Three Days of Glory

Documentary Feature

FLORIDA PREMIERE. An in-depth, insider’s look at the legendary world of Burgundy wines and the humble farmers who make them. We follow a group of Burgundian winemakers through the 2016 vintage – in which many producers lost up to 90% of their crop due to a freak spring frost.  At the same time, interest in and demand for Burgundy has never been higher world-wide, and a number of top vineyards have recently been purchased for astronomical sums by billionaires and corporate luxury-goods conglomerates. Thus we find Burgundy at a crossroads, with some feeling that the region, one of the world’s great treasures, is in peril of losing its identity if not its soul.

In spite of any and all hardships, all Burgundians come together every fall for a festival called Les Trois Glorieuses – Three Days of Glory – which assembles top wine-lovers, journalists, collectors, professionals and chefs from around the world for the mother of all wine celebrations. We go inside the cellars and the kitchens of never before filmed events, and get to see the Burgundy few outsiders ever will. Top Burgundian personalities featured include Aubert de Villaine of the legendary Domaine de al Romanée-Conti, Dominique Lafon of Domaine Comtes Lafon in Meursault, Véronique Drouhin of Maison Joseph Drouhin in Beaune, and the world’s leading Burgundy authority and critic Allen Meadows of Burghound.com. of the tunnel.
