Co-staring Nicholas Elmi (winner of Top Chef in 2014) and featuring interviews with chefs Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller and Eric Ripert and former Mayor of Philadelphia Ed Rendell.

Director Biography

Erika Frankel produced THE HOME TEAM (2014, SXSW, AFI DOCS), a documentary short on NCAA basketball in Kentucky. Previously, she produced ANNIE: IT’S THE HARD KNOCK LIFE (2013, PBS), a feature documentary on the 2012 revival of the Broadway musical that received rave reviews from The New York Times (“delightful”), Entertainment Weekly (“a must see,” A-) and The Onion’s A/V Club (A-) and FRONTRUNNERS (2008, SXSW; 2010, Sundance Channel), a smart and funny look at the hard-fought race for school president at Stuyvesant High School in New York City,

She has produced numerous programs for television including PBS’s NOVA scienceNOW (profiles of a paleoanthropologist and a computer hacker), SUPERHEROES (three-hour-long series on the history of comic book superheroes), MAKE ‘EM LAUGH (six-hour-long series on the history of American comedy), The Discovery Channel’s EARTH 2050 (hour-long special on the future of energy) and many others. She began her career as a production assistant for legendary documentary filmmaker Charles Guggenheim and as an associate producer on several episodes of the PBS series AMERICAN MASTERS: GORE VIDAL (2003, Sundance), JONI MITCHELL and WOODY ALLEN.

She makes her directorial debut with KING GEORGES.
