El Roi literally means The God Who Sees Me. This experimental film speaks to the pervasive messages from media and men that determine how we define purpose, beauty, and a life worth living. Through sisterhood, we find all three. A film about being truly seen, El Roi, deals with themes of invisibility, self-love, and whose gaze is worth vying for.
